Robert C. Byrd Institute

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is an independent program administered by Marshall University. It provides access to computer numerical control (CNC) equipment for businesses in West Virginia and Western Maryland.
The mission of RCBI is to "develop a quality, just-in-time (JIT) supplier base for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the commercial sector"[citation needed] by providing statewide and regional access to advanced technology and technical training to small and medium sized companies.
