RMIT Aerospace Student Association

AESA(Aerospace Students Association) is a student organization at RMIT University situated in Melbourne, Australia. The association consists of members coming from Higher Education and TAFE, studying either aerospace engineering or Aviation. AESA is a active student organization for many years, fulfilling various roles for RMIT students. AESA started as the Aerospace Engineering Students Association at the RMIT Fisherman’s Bend campus, and has subsequently moved and adapted to the change in RMIT Aerospace program structure with the move to the Melbourne city and Bundoora campuses.

The association organizes events aimed specifically for Aerospace/Aviation students at RMIT and other universities. These include:

An annual event, in partnership with the Royal Aerospace Society (RAeS) , which brings together Australia’s aerospace industry to advertise work placements and other opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students

[edit] Space Science Expo (SSE)

An event aimed at high school students to introduce them to the worlds of science and engineering

[edit] Lecture series

Guest lectures from industry representatives. For example the latest lecture was presented by a former aerobatics pilot who is now currently the Technical Support Manager at GKN Aerospace


AESA usually run event such as barbeques, engineering ball, and sports competitions

Newsletter: The newsletter provides up to date information of aerospace related news at RMIT. It also provides interviews, a list of events, and information relevant to the aerospace community

The Book Shop: The bookshop is where academic notes and information can be found.

Online hub: The online learning hub provides: contact details for other students; forums for help with courses; important links to companies and organisations; co-op opportunities; links to some cool aerospace photos and videos and of couse funny stuff

Drop in centre: A place where students can get academic help from older students.
