I mostly do lossless image recompression around Wikipedia, but I've been known to add little titbits onto articles and correct spelling/grammar errors. I've never submitted a new article, nor have I ever made any substantial lengthening to an existing article. But I think there's only a handful of people that losslessly recompress images, if that. So while I can't contribute much to producing new content, I can help shorten people's download times and at least make a smidgen of a scratch into Wikipedia's constantly increasing bandwidth requirements.

I don't discriminate against the topic/subject of the images, nor do I exclude images based upon who uploaded them. I also don't discriminate based upon copyright status or license. But given I often upload images with missing/incomplete copyright, various bots detect me as uploading multiple untagged/incomplete images. Just so you know, this isn't my fault that these images have missing/incorrect copyright tags; I just shrink images that other people have uploaded. So, don't blame the messenger here.  :)
