[edit] Biography

Essentially, nothing is known about Maximum Bob apart from the musical projects he has been involved with. Alas, he is only known by his stage name, and is virtually out of the public eye. Despite this, the official biography of Buckethead states that Maximum Bob was the one who took Buckethead in.

[edit] Career

Maximum Bob got his first job performing backup vocals for the band Mr. Bungle. This only lasted a short time, recording only one album with them, there debut album Mr. Bungle in 1991. After this, he became the full time lead singer for the Deli Creeps. Combining hard rock with a shock factors based off of the Sawyer family from the movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", they played shows for a short time with Mr. Bungle.[2] After creating two demo tapes (one in '91 and the other in '96), touring along California, and finally creating a full studio album in 2005, the band went on a haitus. In 2003, during an interview with Travis Dickerson, the owner of the record label for the Deli Creeps, he said there might be plans for a Maximum Bob solo album, but didn't give any specific dates.[1] Recently, Maximum Bob was featured as the singer on the song "The Hand" in the Buckethead album Enter the Chicken and most recently the guest singer on the song "Worship" in the supergroup Praxis' album "Profanation (Preparation for a Coming Darkness) in 2008.

[edit] Performance Style

Maximum Bob is known for his unorthadox behavior on stage. Among the things he has done, he has stopped songs to ask the audience a question (though it usually doesn't interupt the overall flow of the song), erratically moving around on the stage making strange gestures and noises, and making extremely dark and sexual jokes with the audience, usually about sex and murder. These all play into the dark and psychotic theme of the band.

Maximum Bob uses a wide range, using deep and high pitched singing. He usually delivers lyrics in either slow short sections or long fast spoken sgements in a deep bass range. Occassionally, he will sing the chorus of a song, using deep or high pitched tones or, in studio recorded material, both at the same time, usually creating octaves, or eighth chords.[[:Media:Canihavearideoctave.ogg‎|Octave in "Can I Have A Ride"]]
