| Description |
The ruins of the Ritter Lumber Company's sawmill at Hazel Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, located in the Southeastern United States. The sawmill operated 1910-1928. Trees would be hauled by railroad from the forests higher up in the valley. They would washed in a pond (now dry) adjacent to the mill before being sent through the band saw. These ruins are located about a half-mile east of Proctor. |
