Rise of the West

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

By rise of the West some people understand the unique process in world history in which Europe developed in such a completely different way than the other civilizations in the past 500 years, and also the dramatic effect of western civilization on others in this period.

The concept of the rise of the West originates mainly from the book The Rise of the West: A History of the Human Community by William H. McNeill.

Joseph Needham is also a person who thought about the reasons for the rise of the West, while researching Chinese history and their scientific and engineering achievements.

A related theme can be found in The Triumph of the West by J.R. Roberts written from an economic perspective for the period from 1000 A.D.
