Do Ripstik wheels wear over a longer period of time then The Wave wheels?

I have a waveboard, and the wheels are 77mm thick. Ripstik wheels are 76mm thick, although I read that they

wear over a longer period of time. I ride my waveboard almost every day and have to buy new wheels about once a month. My cousin has a Ripstik and I don't think he's ever replaced his wheels (although I don't know the quality of his current wheels). So, is it true?
