Used to describe something that refers, pertains or relates to the ideas, writings, history, characteristics or other attributes of the German poet Rainer Maria Rilke (4 December 1875 – 29 December 1926).
The term "Rilkean" was also used in the song, "Rilkean Heart" by the Cocteau Twins, featured on their full-length album, "Milk and Kisses," released in 1996. The lyrics of the song "Rilkean Heart" exhibit the introspective solitude and depth that is also exhibited by much of Rilke's poetry.
