Rila Fukushima is a Japanese-born fashion model currently residing in New York City. Originally attempting to secure a position as a model agent at a Tokyo agency, she was persuaded to try modelling instead. Her early career in Tokyo consisted of bookings for various commercial and editorial clients, but the surprise direct booking for the S/S 2003 D&G campaign advanced her career to an international level.
In 2008, she opened the fashion boutique I Dont Like Mondays, an inspiration from the late 70s post-punk song I Don't Like Mondays by Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats.
