[edit] Book

He has also released a book on September 29th 2005 entitled; Bigger Than Hitler Better Than Christ by The Rik Mayall. Published by Haper Collins.

Although this is an autobiography it is written by 'THE' Rik Mayall which is Mayall's public persona so deceifering whats fact and fiction can be tricky. tigerstripe 18:53, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

It's written by Rik, but sounds more like Richie. Bjelleklang - talk 11:12, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Expansion request, Etc

Okay, I have added some links to the 'bwilliant' shows Rik has had a major part in, and I have added this article to the list for requested expansions. I hope somebody can improve this article. The presentation could be better, and there must be more info on a comedy legend like like Rik Mayall. Feel free to visit my talk page to discuss improving any aspect of this article. -Neural 05:13, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I've added the expansion tag to the main page, in the hopes that somebody will take up the challenge to improve the article. I am not the best person to do this, but I'd recommend that it be broken up into sections - life, career, trivia etc... The layout looks shabby compared to many similar articles. Even the vile Nick Griffin has a better-presented article than this! -Neural 18:19, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

He also does the voice for King Arthur in the children's cartoon 'King Arthur's Disasters'. It is recent but I am not sure what year or any other details - I just know that it's on every weekday and my 5 year old loves it. --ja1young, 22:18, 2nd July 2007 (UTC)

Voice-over

Didn't do the voice-over/voice of a puppy in a Andrex add?

Yes, I believe so.
I concur. Ghostwords (talk) 14:46, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Harry Potter

Re Harry Potter appearance "None of this footage has reached the public domain thus far." - is this true? I could have sworn I remember seeing some of it, though I forget where. Perhaps I'm just thinking of John Cleese's appearance.

It may be in the deleted scenes in the first dvd release. Ghostwords (talk) 14:46, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

It has been reported that he has used the Hitler salute to a group of Anarchists on a march in Notting Hill. report about the march

[edit] Picture

There needs to be a pic of him on his article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Friedfrogz (talk • contribs) 17:36, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Rik flash.jpg

Image:Rik flash.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Personal relationships

There are references both here and on Lise Meyer's entry to Mayall having an affair, abandoning Meyer when both women became pregnant by him and her later miscarriage. I have serious concerns over the fact that none of this is accompanied by a verifiable reference. Ghostwords (talk) 14:46, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Can a source be provided for the recent (1 march 2008) and rather controversial entry about an alleged illegitimate child? And whatever the source (if indeed there is one), I'm not sure this sort of information is entirely relevant (or indeed justifiable) for a wiki page about an actor's career... 00:47, 6 march 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.194.63.216 (talk)

I've tagged it with citation needed. Frankly though, this are serious claims, and this is a biography of a living person - I think they should come out altogether until we have a robust source. Not really my subject area though so I don't feel bold enough to just delete... I also agree that this sort of celebrity trivia would be better somewhere other than in an encyclopaedia. [edit] Droitwitch or Redditch?

An editor over at Redditch has spotted that there we have Mayall as having lived as a child in the town (and found a supporting web-reference to this), whilst here we have him living in Droitwich. Not far apart I know, but definitely not the same place. Maybe he moved from one to the other. Does anyone have a more robust source for where he lived, a biography or anything like that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Behind The Wall Of Sleep (talkcontribs) 12:48, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
