Ridgeville is a small town located in Franklin Township, Randolph County, Indiana, United States, along the Mississinewa River. According to the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 843.

Ridgeville is located at 40°17'27" North, 85°1'45" West (40.290723, -85.029183)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²), of which, 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there are 234 families residing in the town. The population density is 1,429.4 people per square mile (551.7/km²). There are 368 housing units at an average density of 624.0/sq mi (240.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.76% White, 0.12% Native American, and 0.12% from two or more races. 0.24% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 340 households out of which 32.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 25.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.48 and the average family size is 2.97.

In the town the population is spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 99.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.8 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $33,819, and the median income for a family is $40,547. Males have a median income of $27,596 compared to $24,107 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,547. 8.3% of the population and 7.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 7.9% of those under the age of 18 and 9.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
