[edit] Battlefield 2

Regarding your comment on Talk:Battlefield 2 that I make a lot of edits based on my point of view; I dont make edits based entirely on my point of view, I am just trying to keep the article in line with the official Wikipedia guidelines. Nearly every time I propose something and wait for a consensus, I barely ever get a reply, so I am just trying to get things done at a pace fast enough to keep up with the large amount of fluff put in the article. If you disagree with something I have done in particular, then tell me about it, but I try to do edits consistent with the Wikipedia guidelines so it is not just a personal grudge against other peoples contributions. You should check my comment on the "Battlefield 2 Bugs and Exploits" discussion page, I should have wrote it here in the first place, sorry. Dudewheresmypizz4 14:13, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Stubs

It seems you've been patrolling my newfound crusade to mark every stub on wikipedia. Sadly I am new here and I was wondering, How do you make a catagorized stub? Tips would be helpful for a fellow catagorizer :D Riconoen 10:23, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Step one: try not to go crazy. Step two: take a look at either this list or this one and place the appropriate tags at the bottom of the article while removing the generic stub tag. There aren't really any set guidelines to which tags go where, really. The stub tags themselves always go at the bottom of the article, but the category is up to you so use your best judgement. =) If you mean how do you make a new stub category, then I direct you to here. It's a lot of red tape just for a new category, but that's how they want it done. In the edit summary you should write something like (-{{stub}}, +stub cat), where "stub cat" is the actual category you chose. That way if there's a better category someone looking at the article's history or patrolling new edits can easily make the change.
The number of stubs has been out of control lately due to the number of bots patrolling short articles. It's kind of overwhelming, so it's good to meet other stub-sorters. Happy editing! =D — Indi [ talk ] 11:18, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] UFDC

United Front for Democratic Change is a translation of French - the original French name is abbreviated FUC. That's why, though I mention the UFDC abbreviation, it is consistently referred to both in the article itself and in the media as FUC. KI 19:51, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
