[edit] Abbreviations

I was wondering if someone could help me out. What do we do about abbreviations for articles. For example, there is an article called Leading edge inflatable kite which is more commonly known as LEI kite. Is a page created for LEI kite and then a redirect applied or some other method? Does this also apply to capitalisation for articles, e.g. Bow kite works but Bow Kite doesn't?

Hi, please see Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Prefer_spelled-out_phrases_to_abbreviations and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (abbreviations) for help on deciding the best title of an article. Alternative titles should redirect to the article. You can create a redirect by starting a new page (for example at Bow Kite) and adding the following #REDIRECT [[Target page]]. [edit] Collaboration 18th - 25th March 2007

Hi fellow WikiProject Kent Member, you may have already seen this on our Kent Article Improvement talk page. We are planning a small drive on the Kent related articles this week, 18th to 25th March, to grade and categorise them.

  • All we are asking is, as you read/edit a Kent related page, for you digest the information, then add the template {{WP:Kent|class=|importance=}} to the top of the articles talk page. Instructions are available on the Project page or template page.
  • Please try to grade according to the guidelines to enable us to prioritise future work.
  • After saving the template, add comments in the section created by the template.

Hello again Richtom80/Archive Apr 2007, following our collaboration to tag Kent-related articles, we have ear marked 931 articles as being Kent related, however, as of the 26th March, 137 articles are still to be assessed.

  • Could you please look at any, some or even one of the 137 unassessed articles and change the {{WP:Kent|class=}} template, on the talk page, to a "class=Stub/Start or B category".
  • Please try to grade according to the guidelines to enable us to prioritise future work.

Hi - I see you have recently created a new stub type. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. Hi. I created Image:North East Kent.PNG based on your Image:Kent Blank map.svg, but I've been advised by User:O1ive that Wikipedia doesn't like the "png" format, as it takes up too much space, and that I should ask if you could help putting it in a better format.
