This template employs CSS style attributes that may display differently on different browsers. Please test all changes with multiple browsers including at least IE, Firefox, and Safari. Any experiments should be conducted in the template sandbox or your user space.

This template is a version of template:NavigationBox intended to be used to generate a scrollable navigation "bar", rather than a navigation box, in cases where there are a long list of items that as a box would consume a large amount of vertical space in an article.

Caution NOTE: Please do not introduce new uses of this template until the following issues are addressed:
  • Appearance when "printable version" is selected (printing a scrollbar is somewhat less than thrilling)
    ✔ Fixed, except for Safari which doesn't seem to process the "noprint" class correctly (prints anyway).
  • Appearance in Opera
    ✔ Fixed
  • Usage issue with JAWS ("next element" traversal shortcut not available, so it's difficult to traverse past)

[edit] Mandatory arguments

  • Title: A title for the navigation bar; may include links
  • List: List of links to related articles; links maybe separated, for instance, by commas, bullets, or pipe symbols. To use pipe symbols (vertical bars) as a separator, template:! must be used since "|" has meaning within a template invocation. The syntax for this is {{!}}.

  • Color: The color to use for the title bar. This Color parameter defaults to the color shown in the {{{Title}}} line above.
  • Category: A category all articles using this template will be added to.
