[edit] Birth date

Confusion over birth date - sources point to 1943

"It was not immediately known what caused the death of the Canadian-born musician, which came a day after his 56th birthday." — Calgary Herald

"Canadian-born musician Rick Danko, one of the founding members of the Woodstock-era group The Band, died yesterday, the day after his 56th birthday." — Ottawa Citizen.

  • There is much confusion, due to the fact that he died in December, that the 9 December date is more often repeated. But I think he knew his own birthday. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.206.213.106 (talkcontribs) 6 May 2006

[edit] Drug use

I'm confused by the last sentence in the article. His drug use had nothing to do with his terrible shape and condition? Is this true? He may not have died from an overdose, but didn't a lifetime of abuse debilitate his physical health incredibly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.223.187 (talkcontribs) 1 February 2006
