[edit] Merge / Car Accident Text Copied!
I have recently noticed that the section "Vampire Dragster Crash" is identical to the page 2006 Richard Hammond Dragster crash. I have tried to delete that page but the tag was removed as the cirtierion is not suitable.
Can I please safely suggest on this talk page that this section be removed, or at least shortened, on this article? Thanks! --rjcuk 23:10, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Robertcathles, the article in the page 2006 Richard Hammond Dragster crash is identical to what there is on Richard Hammond's article.
I have said on the talk page there that maybe it should be merged. Xx-sleepy-star-xx 14:52, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

- I've gone ahead and merge and redirected 2006 Richard Hammond Dragster crash into this article. Dhar8062 21:44, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for sorting that problem out, everyone! A redirect is a much better idea than deletion. Best regards, --rjcuk 20:34, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Screwed-up timeline
This article tells some specifics of the crash, then has Hammond back on the air, then seems to go back in time to give many more details about the crash, then tells again about his return to Top Gear. Could someone integrate this info and put it in order? Jessicapierce 20:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
The last paragraph ("In September 2007 Richard made a return to high-speed driving...")in the November 2006 section either needs to be moved or cut out. Silent Assasin (talk) 01:11, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] He Won a Book Award
[1] someone could add info about that Bobo6balde66 22:33, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Photo
I know he's gorgeous but does the main photo of him need to be so big? And do there really need to be two photos?
- Is it any bigger than the less-gorgeous Clarkson and May photos? If not, then there's no reason to change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.223.95 (talk) 13:40, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cruftastic
This article is diseased. No, honestly. It is so shot through with cruft and inainities that it makes my eyes bleed. He is a TV presenter and occasional occupant of intensive care wards, the fact that he appeared on a TV chat show is completely banal and irrelevant. "TV celebrity appears on talk show to plug autobiography" is right up there at at 10 on the "dog bites man" scale of non-news. Similarly, the fact that he used to smoke (like approximately 20% of the UK population, and nearer 40% of the world) is just not at all relevant to his career or public notability. There are plenty more items of tabloid chaff wafting around this article, but those two are the worst. The fact that they seem to be continually reinserted in an entirely inappropriate place just makes it even more inexplicable. Please, people, if you are a Richard Hammond fan, sort this article out soon. Pyrope 18:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Personal Life
It's got Hammond lives in Gloucester - which isn't true. He lives on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border near a town called Ledbury. I'm new to all this Wikipedia stuff, but can someone change it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danvilla2 (talk • contribs) 11:38, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Redmarley is physically within Gloucestershire and as more people have heard of Gloucester than Ledbury, it's easier not to complicate matters. Brad 02:58, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- He no longer lives in Redmarley Iccaldwell (talk) 16:55, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kadett Oliver
I added a bit on Oliver, his Opel Kadett that he bought out in Africa. It might even be worth adding a small subsection on him. TheFishMan92 00:35, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cars
Cars info should be updated or at least mention that are cars that he has owned... For example he had not anymore the Dodge Charger.. its not clear that he still has the left-hand drive 911 as he said 2 years ago that he had ordered a new 911 Carrera S 997 , he bought too a Morgan but now he ordered another so surelly is selling the older Morgan (in an press article he stated that he selled the Charger to make room for the Morgan because he only wanted to have one "toy car" at a time) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.223.231.72 (talk) 04:34, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
He has also just recently acquired a custom made Harley Davidson Glide which was ordered in October Aaurora (talk) 07:17, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] supposed driver of jet car
if you have read the book on the edge my story you would know that richard hammond was supposed to drive the jet car all along and the fact that james may was meant to drive it is untrue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HungryGoth (talk • contribs) 17:45, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Split the Article
I think it might be appropriate to split the part of the article about the jet car crash into it's own article. It's a very large chuck and there is alot ofn information avalible for it that means it could be expanded further. Thoughts? Million_Moments (talk) 18:08, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Emphasis on Car crash
This article has turned from a good article about a TV presenter to one focusing on the crash from the beginning to the near end. It sounds more like an essay when describing the car crash, with too many "however"'s and has too much detail about the crash. Please junk down the crash section and focus more on Richard Hammonds life. Thank You. --78.86.159.199 (talk) 21:39, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Chief Scout
There's talk of Hammond being the new Chief Scout when Peter Duncan finishes his 5 year tenure next year, is this worth mentioning? Joe Davison 10:56, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
