I find this article suspicious. Google finds nothing on "Richard Aertsz" which is not taken from Wikipedia. I've been unable to find evidence that a dutch painter with this name has ever lived. In case he lived I doubt the relevance of this article (which is moreover classified as Orphaned). --Gauss 09:42, 30 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • The surname 'Aerts' and 'Aertz' does show up on some Dutch pages in Google. Not knowing Dutch, I can't read them. I agree with Cyrius -- verify or delete.
  • Keep, probably. I think I found him in a 16th century encyclopedia of painters, see [1]. He's called "Rijcker Aertsz a.k.a. Rijck with the wooden leg" there. Eugene van der Pijll 20:53, 30 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. Google search isn't the best way to verify semi-obscure 16th century painters, as I wouldn't necessarilly expect someone like that to show up. Imran is, AFAIK, a good contributor. Isomorphic 02:49, 1 May 2004 (UTC)
    • Good point. I bet there are a lot of articles in Encyclopedia Brittanica which get zero google hits, for example. Also the fact that it is a Dutch name which might be spelled differently makes a google search even harder. anthony (see warning)
