Ricky Womack

Ricky Womack (born 1961-05-07 in Detroit, MI and died 2002-01-19) was a professional boxer from the United States.

Womack turned pro in 1984 and began his career with a promising tring of victories, incding a victory over future champion Uriah Grant, and was undefeated in his first nine bouts until troubles outside of the ring derailed his career.

Womack was sentenced to 12-25 years for armed robbery [2]. After serving 15 years, Womack was released in November of 2000 [3].

After his release, Womack returned to the ring in 2001 and won all four bouts.

On January 19, 2002, Womack took his own life, two months after his last fight. [4]
