Richboro Port railway station (TR 334 603 ) was a station that the East Kent Light Railway intended to open for passenger traffic in November 1925. However, the poor condition of the bridge over the Southern Railway and River Stour meant that permission to run trains was not forthcoming from His Majesty's Railway Inspectorate.[1] The station was named Richboro Port, dropping the "ugh" off the end of Richborough, as witnessed by the nameboard on the station[2] and contemporary maps.[3]
