Richardis of Schwerin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richardis of Schwerin, (1347-1377), was a Swedish Queen, married to King Albert of Sweden. In Sweden, she was called Queen Rikardis.

Richardis was the child of Count Otto I of Schwerin (d.1357) and Mathilda of Mecklenburg-Werle (d.1361) and was engaged to Albrekt of Mecklenburg, who was also to be king of Sweden. In Wismar on 12 October 1352, the marriage contract was signed. It was not until 1365, however, that they were married in reality and Richardis arrived in Sweden.
