Richard Enderlin (11 January 1843 – 11 February 1930) was a musician and United States Army soldier who was born in Germany and grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio. He received a Medal of Honor for the heroism he displayed when fighting in the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Thought his unit was not directly engaged, Enderlin (a bugler) voluntarily joined the defense of Cemetery Ridge. On 2 July, during combat, George Nixon III (the great-grandfather of American President Richard Nixon) became wounded and was carried out of harm's way by Enderlin — for which Enderlin won the Medal of Honor on 11 September 1897.
Enderlin is buried at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe.
