A lost light, a new hope

On May 1st, I went through what no mother should ever experience, seeing the light go out in my daughter's eyes. Holding her hand, knowing what pain she had gone through these past few months, I felt her beautiful soul leave me and my husband, going wherever it is that angels go.

She could sing beautifully, and I will always remember her voice echoing in our home, picking up whatever melodies she'd heard from the radio or friends at school or even passers-by in the street. I could hear her singing even when they took away her voice.

I thank the Wikipedians who have known about these events, which I kept quiet about, not wanting to use the Wiki for what it wasn't intended for. I've heard voices of people I never thought I'd talk to, and gotten letters from people I thought I'd never get along with. Primoz and I thank you, every one.

I urge anyone who wishes to give their condolences to consider a donation to their choice of cancer charities. I would give all I had to never let this happen to anyone's daughter.
