Yes, I am the same person as User:Rspeer. I use this puppet account for teaching purposes, for a class on Wikipedia in MIT's Educational Studies Program.
I use it for a few reasons:
- My main account is heavily customized, and of course contains admin buttons, neither of which give students an accurate view of what Wikipedia will look like for them.
- Students don't need to see whatever admin-related messages might come up for Rspeer.
Why the confusing name? It came up in a username discussion as a hypothetical name that would impersonate me. Now I'm just impersonating myself. It also contains the letters "ESP" in it, naming the program that I'm using it for.
