Resen is a village in Bulgaria, located about 20km North of the old university town of Veliko Tarnovo.

Situated just south of the River Rosica, Resen has fared far better than many of the Bulgarian country villages in that it is a live and thriving community and not a crumbling collection of largely abandoned houses as so many of its sister villages seem to be.

Resen has a few local bars, a simple restaurant and a fairly well stocked small supermarket. The village is served with broadband Internet access via a wireless network from the village Post Office.

Several English, Irish and Scottish families have bought and are renovating properties in the village, and recently it has become possible to stay in Resen at a pleasant and well equipped guest house.
