I'd like to make the listing of ships on this page more complete, but adding more entries will make organization more important. An even longer list than now exists will become unwieldy, it seems to me. For now I will start adding some vessels, creating stubs for those that don't already exist (especially for the US and France). It would be nice to have a systematic way to list, say, the ships currently in service and those that are decommisioned, and the operating institution (especially for the US which has many different oceanographic institutions). I don't have a good solution for this. Kjordahl 15:56, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Notice that USS and R/V and S/Y etc. should not be italicized; that's standard form. So, someone can perhaps change the typeface so that they're all correct, as my entries for Te Vega and Black Douglas are. Andarin 19:38, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
