[edit] Pronunciation

A short note about the pronunciation of the suburb name. Locals pronounce the suburb name with the stress on the first syllable: RE-serch. (At least they did when I lived there.) This is in contrast with the usual pronunciation of "research" (scientific), which is usually stressed on the last syllable: ri-SERCH. Locals tend to pronounce "reserach" (scientific) RE-serch, like the suburb. --B.d.mills 04:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Here in WA "REE-search" is the common pronunciation although "ruh-SEARCH" is not unheard of. Not sure what the situation's like in metro Melbourne though. Orderinchaos78 05:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
