[edit] Plot

The film is about the gruesome tale of Detective John Prudhomme, a Cajun transferred to Chicago, who is assigned to investigate the savage murder of a man who has bled to death from a severed arm. A message, "He Is Coming", written in blood on the victim's window is a dark, forboding clue of his task. After two more victims with missing body parts are discovered, Prudhomme realizes he is on the trail of a serial killer who is using the missing body parts to reconstruct the body of Christ.

The film is often compared with the film Se7en which has a similar plot. The film contains graphic scenes of violence, gore, coarse language and some nudity.

[edit] Filming Locations

Some of the film was shot in Chicago, Illinois and New Orleans, Louisiana, but most of it was filmed in Toronto, Canada.

[edit] Response

Resurrection was released in the Fall of 1999 on Cable Television in the United States. In many other countries such as France, Spain and Switzerland, it was shown in theatres. Most viewers cited the film as a carbon copy of the 1995 serial killer movie Se7en starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, which has a similar plot. It currently holds a 5.9 rating at the Internet Movie Database and a 17% fresh rating on rottentomatoes.com.
