[edit] Possible withdrawal
To anybody who's reviewing this (both opposition and supportive), I'm considering withdrawing my request in light of some comments that are irrefutable and in some cases, refutable but with a steady stance of opposition from the voters. Is there anybody who would like to provide me with any guideance as to what avenue I should approach? I'm receiving a greater volume of support than opposition, but feel that based on the nature of the opposition, I may be better served by withdrawing and waiting about 6 months for more established grounding in the areas of concern being expressed. If anybody cares to comment, please do so here. Is it prudent to remove or withdraw an application for adminship, for that matter? --lincalinca 04:51, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's really up to you Linca. It might be considered good form by some to withdraw early rather than waste the community's time, if you have definitely decided it will not likely reach consensus. On the other hand, you may get further pointers to help you to do better in the future by letting it run to the end. Only you can really say. Incidentally I would rather have said this in an email but I see you don't have email enabled. Enabling that is good as it allows for off-wiki communication, which can sometimes be useful. - I've just resigned my job, so I've disabled that until I have my new work e-mail address. I'm here on the computer a great deal more than at home (I usually just run wab when I'm at home, I focus on my edits from here). I'm not convinced for certain that I'm not going to achieve the approval, but I'm starting to have my doubts. The cracks are emerging, and they're quite valid points that I can't fight. Some points are definitely poignant, but not things I would consider to be worthy of opposition (your's I don't consider to be a part of those, but I'm not saying this to be favourtistic, but realistic). Would it be considered saving face if I was to withdraw, or braver to see it out to the end, consensus or not? That's really my main question. --lincalinca 05:53, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
