- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: I am particularly interested in helping and learning about tackling vandalism. This seems to a problem across a Wikipedia. I think this can damage the reputation of Wikipedia. One of the main reasons I would like to help with admin is that a small number of articles I have edited have been vandalised.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: I am particularly pleased with my work at Athletic Bilbao as this has twice been used as a press/media source. I guess when someone uses your edits that it a sort of compliment. I am also pleased with the edits I have made at Real Madrid and FC Barcelona as I believe I have made significant improvements to these pages. It is also nice to see other editors add to pages I have started e.g. FC Barcelona B and Real Madrid Castilla.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Yes I have been involved in editing disputes and yes sometimes they have caused me stress. Sometimes a dispute can be sorted out by a discussion e.g.Talk:E Street Band and this will always be my first port of call. Some times didsputes can be simple misunderstandings and easily resolved. However on occasions I have found a minority of editors to be aggressive, one in particular e.g. Talk:FC Barcelona. When this happened, I have got someone else involved. Disputes can be resolved by seeking another opinion. However I find it frustrating and disheartening when a vandal or a sloppy editor comes along and wrecks other peoples work. This is an unfortunate flaw with Wiki although, I am not sure how or if it can be stopped. I have sought protection on some articles but I am not sure this is a long term solution and may discourage potential editors get involved. WP:RFA
