[edit] Template needing talk links and other improvements

I added the Category:Templates needing talk links and other improvements to this template. It needs a talk page link. The template should always be accompanied by a short talk page note describing what picture, where it would be placed and optionally why it would improve the article. [edit] merge with Template:reqphoto?

I have added three location-oriented parameters to {{reqphoto}}, so that a user may specify e.g. {{reqphoto|trains}} to indicate three likely locations where a suitable photograph may be taken.

This could allow us to replace {{reqphotoin}} with {{reqphoto}}. I'm interested in hearing feedback and reasons why this shouldn't be done. Any thoughts? Tim Pierce 03:51, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Not having heard any feedback either way, I will get ready to do this. I'll write a bot to replace {{reqphotoin|x|y|z}} templates with {{reqphoto|in=x|in2=y|in3=z}}, and will propose it at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval. [edit] Please use {{reqphoto}} instead

I've extended the {{reqphoto}} template per my earlier comments, and PhotoCatBot is now changing all references to {{reqphotoin}} to {{reqphoto}} that it can find. When it's done I will submit this template to Templates For Deletion.

On new articles, please use {{reqphoto}} instead of {{reqphotoin}}, and consider specifying what kind of object the photo should portray in addition to where it might be found. Thank you! Tim Pierce 23:01, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
