[edit] Wikipedia talk:High-risk templates
[edit] Full protection of user-warning templates is ridiculous
- High-use does not mean high-risk
- Subst'd templates are not at high-risk of server load
- Subst'd templates are possibly at risk for only 1 or 2 instances of inclusion of vandalism, assuming the editor using it doesn't check the result (which they should have).
- Preventing the risk of a low amount of vandalism does not outweigh the bad in locking out well-meaning vandal-fighting editors from continually improving these templates.
- Just because these templates have been created and are in use, does not mean they are "final". Proposing an edit on the talk page for a grammar fix on a level 0 spam template is NOT an acceptable solution for editing.
- Serious harm has been done to by protecting these templates.
