The First Republic of Lithuania (Lithuanian: Pirmoji Lietuvos Respublika) or often named Interbellum Lithuania (Lithuanian: Tarpukario Lietuva) was an independend state that existed between the World Wars. Lithuania declared its independence on February 16, 1918 and was occupied by the Soviet Union on June 15, 1940. The independence of the Second Republic of Lithuania was declared on March 11, 1990.
