During the second world war René Duchez, a French painting and decorating subcontractor which wasn't a spy that took a job at the Caen offices of the dreaded Organisation 'Todt'. And stole the plans of Hitler’s massive Atlantic Wall on impulse from the German engineers.
The plans were taken to England with a fishingboat and tossed on the MI-6 office desk.
MI-6 feared the plans would be useless because German engineers would change the constructions when the loss was discovered. However the decision was to make a copy and not mention the the fact. [1]
