  • Yellow dot: U.S. cruiser Chicago, fleet tug Navajo, and escorting destroyers.
  • Dotted red line: Attacking Japanese torpedo bombers.
  • Dashed black arrows: U.S. carrier fighter attacks on the Japanese torpedo bombers.
