Talk:Remifentanil

I added cleanup-verify because a "clearance of 4,000 mL/min" and "effects [including] a 20% decrease in heart rate and arterial pressure" sound sketchy. mL/min sounds like a units error, and 20% at what dosage and in what type of patient? I don't know. Neurophyre 04:43, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
mL/min is an appropriate unit for drug clearance (meaning that 4000mL of blood is cleared of drug every minute), although perhaps 4L/min would be more appropriate. 20th June 2005
I have changed effects to reflect manufacturers package insert. The statement including 20% was inaccurate as you noted so I substituted the phrase "dose dependent" also consistent with manufacturers package insert. You are right remifentanil at high doses can cause a 100% decrease in heart rate and bp. Also the drugs renal clearance has very little to do with rapid resolution of effects so I deleted it (also clearance is 40ml/kg/min so 4000 was an approximation.
