[edit] Origin of this article

This article was originally split from business ethics. See the talk page for business ethics for about 3 years of discussion on splitting. The religion sections originally formed the core of the business ethics article, which has since been improved. Considerable work over a number of years went into refining the current religion section.

In the process of splitting, the text has not been changed. I'll leave that for someone who knows the field better than I.
