[edit] History

Relentless Records was founded by Shabs Jobanputra and Paul Franklyn in 1999. Though it was initially focused on distributing urban music, the label soon began distributing British rock and pop music in the early 2000s, under their parent label EMI. The releases of Joss Stone's debut album The Soul Sessions, and KT Tunstall's debut album Eye to the Telescope marked a turning point for Relentess' record sales. In a few years, both albums' combined sales totalled to 3.5 million units in the UK.[2]
