I've attempted to clean this article up some, since the original was in extremely broken English. Someone who knows more of the subject matter is going to have to take another stab at it, though. --Xanzzibar 04:47, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't really see why "the female redingote was actually more important". This item of clothing existed in many forms and variations for both sexes, the male version was NOT simply a form of frock coat- that's just an example. OzoneO 09:18, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
