Talk:Redemption (United States history)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's not so much that interest in reforming the South shriveled, but the KKK was a major force in scaring Republicans from voting. Lynching wasn't just aimed at blacks, but at Republicans and anyone trying to expand black equality.

[edit] Contributions by User:70.57.103.185

User:70.57.103.185 expanded the article from 4000 bytes to 29000 bytes in this edit on 22 April 2007. This does not seem to be plagiarism as it retains large parts of the original text. I tried Googling but could not find the text anywhere else. Taking into account his other edits, this looks like original material contributed to Wikipedia.

The new material is well written, it is wikified, and contains four new references. This material was reverted by User:Rjensen. I have restored the enlarged version. It may have a POV, but is improvable. If you want to attack it, start by discussing it here. -- Petri Krohn 10:17, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

I changed my mind; I moved the new material to Southern opposition to Reconstruction. -- Petri Krohn 10:52, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Problems with citations

I don't know what's with the formatting on this article, but I couldn't get the citations to enter automatically below the article. This is messy but all I can do for now.--Parkwells (talk) 15:49, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Do not merge with Redeemers article

The Redeemers article is focused too much on the whites who took back power, not on the effects of their disfranchisement on black and poor white citizens, millions of whom were disfranchised over the next decades.--Parkwells (talk) 15:57, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
