Talk:Redeemer Baptist Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Redeemer Baptist Church has been the subject of some controversy, especially regarding the school it operates in Sydney, the Redeemer Baptist School. It has been in various newspaper reports in 2004 and 2005 ( Hills News, Parramatta Sun, Sydney Morning Herald etc.) See SMH article at http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/Christian-teachers-to-redeem-wages/2005/03/07/1110160756089.html The Church also featured on Channel Nine's Sunday program on 20th March 2005 under the title "Unholy Devotion" (see http://sunday.ninemsn.com.au/sunday/cover_stories/article_1736.asp?s=1 ) It has been mentioned by members of Parliament (see http://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/prod/parlment/HansArt.nsf/V3Key/LC20050302041 and http://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/prod/parlment/HansArt.nsf/V3Key/LC20060921022)

- This article would need a significant rewrite to become neutral. It almost reads like an attack page. --Wafulz 23:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
It might seem very negative, but its the facts. I come from Sydney and I live in Parramatta. I've seen and heard much about this church.---Stallion Tiger 01:22, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's some of the facts. This article doesn't even give context- it just jumps in with controversy after only six words. You should present context first and then follow up with controversies. --Wafulz 05:11, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- I know the church, current members and exmembers. This article resembled nothing of an objective encyclopaedia article which wikipedia strives for.
I agree regarding the dispute of neutrality. This article reads like a Today Tonight story. It needs equal amounts of both sides or the dispute to be neutral. The dispute should also be a subsection of a greater article about Redeemer Baptist Church that is subjectively written.
This article needs a rewrite urgently. Temp it for now because they just got a pretty large website taken down for defamation last week.
