Talk:Red Wings-Avalanche brawl 1997
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
this article is very biased towards Detroit
Detroit won the brawl, watch the video and see.
Um...Detroit "won" the brawl? Sorry if I'm mistaken, but there are no official rules in the NHL regarding how to "win" a fight, nor is there a point system. Whether or not you believe either club "won" the fight is completely irrelevant and inconsequential regarding the bias of this article, which, IMHO it is very much so towards Detroit. Numerous edits for NPOV perspective; it struck me as heavily biased towards Detroit as well.
I agree, especially on the Osgood-Roy fight
I agree as well... very biased towards Detroit. I'm not even conviced the Lemieux/Draper hit was that dirty. The result was obviously unfortunate, but he didn't actually hit him from behind, if you watch the replay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.229.190.193 (talk) 00:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fails notability
I support AfD. I am an ice hockey fan, and although I am familiar with the incident, it is not particularly notable as far as fights go. Even more so as time moves on. Caulfield14 19:57, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] It's Notable
It is still one of the most memorable brawls in sports history and probably the most memorable in hockey history.
I agree. Perhaps as time goes on, it will mean less. But right now, it continues to be a memorable moment especially for the Avalanche and the Red Wings, a notable hockey rivalry. Theaterdude88 01:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Red Wing fan needs to quit posting this crap, a page for a hockey brawl? I agree with Mike Keane's take too. Draper never wanted a piece of Claude Lemieux after he broke his face. McCarty had to cheapshot him to make Red Wing nation feel better about a real beating.
[edit] Only One
I can't believe that this is the only Wikipedia arcticle about an NHL brawl. If someone would add more, maybe, that woutd be great. 24.83.3.54 22:31, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
