[edit] Propose changing the article title

This species has what seems to be an unusually large number of common names. But what I'm getting at is that the name "red-tailed monkey" seems to be one of the vaguest of the set. I would like to change the name. But I am a novice to the subject, so I have no idea which might be the best choice. The main criterion is probably current "popularity" or prevalence -- which common name is used most frequently -- in either the academic literature or among the lay public? Lesser criteria would be the distinctiveness of the name and the existence of subspecies.

The San Diego Zoo has several individuals of subspecies schmidti, and it calls them "Schmidt's spot-nosed guenon". Hurmata (talk) 04:19, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
