Redlands Citrus Valley High

Redlands Citrus Valley High School, or RCV as it is being called, is a planned High School, in the Redlands Unified School District in Redlands, California. Redlands is located near the San Bernardino Mountains of California. Redlands Citrus Valley High School will be the fourth high school in the district, the other three being Redlands High School, Redlands East Valley High School and Orangewood Continuation High School. The School is set to open for the 2009-2010 school year.

The School is to be located on the northwest corner of Texas Avenue and Pioneer Street in the North end of the City of Redlands. The site is now being graded and some part of the school is construction as of late 2007.

[edit] Eminent Domain Issue

The city picked the property on the corner of Pioneer avenue and Texas Street. An issue occurred when the city tried to remove an old lady from her property that has been in her family for generations. She challenged the eminent domain of her property and won the legal case and the city has to wait now to wait till the lady leaves the property or dies. The current site of her property is what is going to become a parking lot.

The school is being built in two phases, half of the school will be built using funds from measure R passed in 2003 and the other half is being built with Measure J passed in 2008. The reason for two measure cites the rise in construction cost in California.[1] [2]
