Redfest
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Redfest is the revival of a Festival based in the agricultural land in Redhill, Surrey. With a 5,000 capacity it is dramatically smaller than other festivals of its type. However Redfest leaders insist it will have both the feel of a festival and a party. It has been considered as a youth based festival, with over 70% of its attenders in 2008 are expected to be under 17, and with the large amounts of stewards and safety measures being placed around the site, it promises to be a lot safer than its contenders such as Guildfest and even Reading. It is also incorporating a no tolerance approach, with many anti social attenders perhaps being refused entry and being refunded. Attributed by its small size, it also consists of small, lesser known bands. Up and coming British talent, Such as the Maccabees and Elliot Minor.
It is a independently run festival, with the ethos take it back to how it used to be. The festival is all about the music and has less concentration on what other festivals seem to have become, such as the binge drink culture.
