Red Star Yeast

Red Star Yeast is a brand of yeast used in cooking, and is manufactured by the Lesaffre Yeast Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The plant, located on N. St. Paul Avenue near the 27th Street Bridge, has been well known for decades for the strong odor of yeast eminating from the vats in the factory building at the north end of the bridge in the industrial section of the city.
