Info "Red Dress" (help·info)

"Red Dress" is the third single from the Sugababes' re-released fourth studio album Taller In More Ways.

This was the first single featuring new band-member Amelle Berrabah, who re-recorded parts of the song following the departure of Mutya Buena in December 2005. The single was released on March 6, 2006, while the new version was previewed on BBC Radio One on January 17, 2006. As a B-side to Red Dress the Sugababes re-recorded the Arctic Monkeys' song "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor", which was received with a mixed reception. It was however chosen by Q as one of the 20 best cover versions of the last 20 years (1986-2006). The main riff to the song is sampled from a classic Northern Soul track, 'Landslide', recorded by Tony Clarke. Also the Animotion cover, "Obsession" taken from Taller In More Ways, is dubbed as an additional B-side. On iTunes there was a special download of the Extended Version of the single which included a longer intro, another verse from Keisha (possibly recorded from the original sessions) before her first bridge and a repeat of the secondary chorus the first time it is sung by Amelle. The single is featured on the soundtrack for the 2006 romantic comedy It's a Boy/Girl Thing.

The music video for "Red Dress" was directed by Tim Royes and shows the girls walking up and down a catwalk runway like supermodels wearing red dresses. The main theme of the video is glamour, with flashing lights, reflective surfaces, and classy surroundings. There are several closeups of the girls' faces, and main group shots of them all in a room with shag carpets and cushions all around them.

At the start of the video, Keisha is hiding behind massive feather fans before walking down the catwalk, and throughout the video she is against a wall dancing to the camera.

Amelle is singing with a veil over her face before ripping it off, and lying on a black chaise longue throughout the video.

Heidi is sitting on a massive suspended hoop, and dotted throughout the video sitting on a red floor playing with a large disco ball under her high heel.
