The Red Affair was a six member emo band formed out of Dayton, Ohio. They are now known as The Great American Beast. They were featured on the 3-way split EP with A Day In The Life (Hawthorne Heights)and Hit The Lights entitled From Ohio With Love. Forming in 2002, the band's original line-up would consist of several members from the band A Day In The Life. The Red Affair would go on hiatus a year later, and reform in 2004 to record an EP entitled Memento Mori. The band was later featured on an album with three other Ohio-based bands entitled From Ohio With Love, which was released by Radio Eat Radio Dot Com. They would even self-produce a video for "Watch Me Stop," which is featured on both EPs. After the depature of Justin Netherly, guitarist Levi Walden would take over on vocals. Three other members (Peter, Ben, and Kipp) would join the band. After five years of playing with The Red Affair, Levi would leave the band to start a family. In the fall of 2007 the band would play their last show as The Red Affair. The band is now known as The Great American Beast.
