Red 13 is a five-piece alternative/metal band from New Jersey, USA.
Red 13 was founded in 2000, by cousins Tim Ostin and Will DeJesus. It wasn't until 2001 that the band officially formalized with the inclusions of Jesse Graglia on guitar and Jon Sitar on drums. After about a year Jon left the band, due to personal conflicts and the desire to pursue a different musical project. Red 13 continued on and eventually picked up Tom Finch a local fan of the band. During this period Red 13 played many local area shows and opened for SoulFly. This incarnation lasted for about three years until heavy tension persuaded the band to drop Tom and search for another drummer. Long time friend Ernesto Gencarelli formerly of local metal band Murderhole then took up the drummer position and in 2007 Red 13 signed with local indie label Romulus X Records.
Their debut album My Bitter Story is due to be released, May 19, 2008.
In addition, Red 13 has supported national acts such as Ill Nino, Black Market Hero, Soulfly, Finger Eleven, HED(PE), It Dies Today, Powerman 5000, Kittie, Blessed By A Broken Heart, and Silent Civilian, as the band continues to work toward the ultimate goal of expressing the brutal pains and subtle bliss of life, not only for themselves, but for all who will listen.”
