[edit] Plot

Rebecca (Temple) auditions for a part in a radio program, "Little Miss America". She and her stepfather do not realize that she has gotten the part and her stepfather sends her away to live with her Aunt Miranda and first cousin, Gwen. Meanwhile, the director of the radio program happens to live next door, but is unaware that the girl that he had apparently "lost" was living right next door. Rebecca is no ordinary girl. From the moment she steps off the Riverboro stagecoach, Rebecca begins casting her delightfully innocent spell upon every one she meets. Everyone, that is, except Miranda Sawyer, Rebecca's elderly aunt. Aunt Mirandy has grudgingly agreed to see Rebecca's education, and she certain that Rebecca will never amount to much. No one else in Riverboro, however, seems to agree.
