Talk:RealAge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, I created the latest incarnation of this page. The previous one was admittedly spam. I think RealAge is notable because it has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, Fox News, etc. The book was a New York Times #1 bestseller. Eight million people have taken their test. (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/17/business/media/17hearst.html?pagewanted=all) They are all over the media. I did not create this page to advertise, and in fact no actual link to their website is provided. --Johnkarp (talk) 03:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability criteria, as applied to realage

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:WEB

RealAge meets two criteria: "The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself." (see above and article) and "The content is distributed via a medium which is both respected and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine, an online publisher, or an online broadcaster" (their bestseller book, see article).

Only *one* of the criteria need to be met. --Johnkarp (talk) 03:38, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. It's not a speedy deletion candidate. I'll remove the template. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 03:42, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
